Anton Rinzema (1943 - 2012) studied at Minerva, located in Groningen. He lived and worked in the first period of his career in Friesland (a province in the North of the Netherlands). Later he moved to Groningen. He exhibited his art in multiple big museums and galleries. The first time was at Galerie Eewal in Friesland and he also exhibited his art at the world-famous KunstRAI in Amsterdam. Anton died in March 2012, but his soul is still in the city.
The paintings of Anton almost look like drawings, but they are not. His best work is only showing contours of items (like tables, plants or cars). He doesnt have many art with people in it, but it feels like they are present in every painting. The paintings are based on things around Anton, they look very simple but every painting has a bigger story behind it. And thats what you will discover when you look more at the paintings.
His art is recently showed at one of the most prestigous museum in the Netherlands: Belvedere in Heerenveen.
