I, Alois Baumgartner, am a native of St.Valentine with over 40 years of experience in the craft and artistic field and began my four-year arts and crafts training in 1970 at the Linz-Markartschule. This was followed by several years of practice in arts and crafts businesses. In 1979 I discovered my love for wood as a material and expanded my creative field to become a wood sculptor with my own sculpting studio.
In 2002 I learned about an oil painting technique that was new to me. The fire for painting was lit. As a result, I completed courses in acrylic and oil painting, as well as becoming a course leader. In 2003, the painting studio “you can paint course” opened, and since then I have looked after well over 4,000 course participants.
I was also a lecturer at the VHS - Linz for several years. Furthermore, in 2013, lecturer in further education and training at the Vienna University of Education, visual design and drawing at the "Pedagogical University of Vienna", lecturer for in-school further education and training - SPZ Vienna.
Now I'm retired, but I still enjoy painting and drawing.
