Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Aan de rand van de historische binnenstad van Diest bevindt zich het Begijnhof, een van de 13 Vlaamse begijnhoven die als Werelderfgoed werden erkend door de UNESCO. Net als elders werd het Begijnhof gebouwd op goedkope, marginale gronden, ver van het centrum, in dit geval het lage, drassige terrein aan de Begijnenbeek. Het Begijnhof van Diest werd in 1253 gesticht door Arnold IV, Heer van Diest, en opgeheven in 1796 door het Franse bewind. De meeste van de negentig hui zen en conventen dateren uit de 17de en 18de eeuw. De Sint-Catharinakerk is een typische begijnhofkerk uit de 13de-14de eeuw. Ze werd met eerder beperkte middelen opgetrokken in ijzerzandsteen en bezit een kleine vieringtoren. Sinds 1938 is het begijnhof, met de begijnhofkerk, de ingangspoort en alle begijnhofhuizen, beschermd als monument.

Alle etsen zijn voorzien van een certificaat van echtheid, hebben een droogstempel en zijn ingelijst.
