La Galerie Numéro 1 de Honfleur sera située au 11 rue des Capucins, actuellement Galerie 92.
La Galerie Numéro 1 ouvre sa deuxième galerie à Honfleur pour permettre aux artistes de vendre leurs œuvres de petits formats à la clientèle très particulière que sont les amateurs d’art qui visitent la Normandie.
Dans ce cadre agréable, j'expose et vends mes peintures sous verre tout l'été.
Un nouveau regard sur une tradition ancienne
La peinture sous verre ou " fixée sous verre " consiste à exécuter le travail de peinture au revers d'une plaque de verre. Le procédé est de peindre le motif inversé et, au contraire de la technique normale, d'exécuter les détails (le nez, les yeux, les fleurs) avant le fond (le visage, le paysage), le spectateur devant regarder l'œuvre terminée sur le côté non peint de la plaque de verre. L'artisan utilise des couleurs à l'huile ou à la gouache mélangées à une colle spéciale.
Dans l'art de la peinture sous verre, ce matériau transparent créé par l'homme, joue un double rôle : il est le support de la peinture, mais il protège en outre, comme un vernis, l'œuvre picturale, qui est vue à travers ce verre, et qui garde au fil du temps l'aspect chatoyant qu'elle a dès sa création. Tous les autres supports d'images peintes (bois, toile, métal, plâtre, ivoire, etc.) disparaissent à notre vue lorsque l'œuvre est achevée. Tel n'est pas le cas du verre, qui reste toujours visible et qui impose sa présence ; l'œuvre dont il est le support, et qu'il protège, est vue, à travers lui, en lumière réfléchie. Il est indissociable de cette œuvre et ne peut le remplacer.
Largement pratiquée en Europe, de l'Espagne à la Pologne, et jusqu'en Asie, la peinture sous verre est liée à l'industrie du verre et à sa diffusion. La technique de la peinture sous verre remonte à l'Antiquité. On en a trouvé des exemples dans les civilisations assyrienne et phénicienne. Introduite à Venise au Moyen Age, elle atteint sa pleine maturité dans la deuxième moitié du XVIe siècle avec la diffusion d'un verre limpide et pur, notamment grâce à l'influence des verriers byzantins installés à Venise depuis le XIIIe siècle. Venise devient alors un des centres de production de cet art savant qui tend à devenir dès le XVIe-XVIIe siècle un art populaire. Au XVIIe-XVIIIe siècle, la peinture sous verre se développe en France, en Espagne, en Allemagne du Sud puis dans toute l'Europe centrale et de l'Est. Le XIXe siècle marque l'apogée de cette technique picturale mais aussi le début de son déclin avec l'invention et la diffusion de la chromolithographie.
En fait, l'histoire de cette tendance de la peinture sous verre, très nettement inspirée de la grande peinture, reste encore à faire. On sait seulement qu'elle était aussi pratiquée en Angleterre, en Espagne et en Chine, importée par des Occidentaux.
Une peinture à la jeunesse éternelle
Fascinée par les couleurs, elle marie l'orient et l'occident dans ses peintures dont la musicalité, la joie et la paix nous inspirent. Elle est à la quête de ce moment magique où l'on dépasse les formes, les thèmes, les apparences pour se glisser dans un monde de sensations, au sein d'un bien-être caressant…
A l'origine, son domaine universitaire est la littérature française. Cette envie de raconter, autant par les mots, que par les formes, cette aventure, l'a menée à la peinture et surtout la peinture sous verre, une peinture à la jeunesse éternelle.
L'art est sa manière de partager la beauté, de propager l'amour, d'essayer de rendre le monde un peu moins brutal, plus subtil, de toucher et d'être touché par la grâce.
