The White King is an allegorical painting in which the various elements that form the composition symbolise the misleading grandeur of power and wealth. In spite of its elegant and majestic presence conveyed by the gold throne that the character is sitting in, the armour, the sceptre that he is holding with his left hand as well as the white grand[...]
The White King is an allegorical painting in which the various elements that form the composition symbolise the misleading grandeur of power and wealth. In spite of its elegant and majestic presence conveyed by the gold throne that the character is sitting in, the armour, the sceptre that he is holding with his left hand as well as the white grand costume, the work is actually remarking on the centralisation of power in modern times. The painting is strongly influenced by the Renaissance style which has helped me to approach the whole creative process from a complete different point of view in regards to issues such as elitism, inequality and subsequently corruption.
