André Plisson
Born in Seigy, in Loir et Cher, in Tourain in 1929, he entered the School of Fine Arts in Tours in 1945 where he was patronized by Maurice Mathurin, a painter with an impressionist tendency who gave him a love of light. . In 1950 he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, in the studio of Jean Dupas. He then spent 27 months in North Africa, for his military service and came back with a pronounced taste for ochre, brown colors and the luminosity of desert lands. He then painted oil landscapes with powerful material. In October 1957 he spent two years in Spain, after obtaining the Casa Velasquez Prize. He will then win numerous prizes and exhibit in France and abroad. In 1970 he was appointed Prefessor at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris. He has produced numerous lithographs as well as mural animations (mosaics) for colleges and high schools. It appears in the collections of the State and the City of Paris as well as in numerous private collections. Honorary Professor and Knight in the Order of Academic Palms. He has been painting sensual and dreamlike landscapes in acrylic for more than thirty years.

Né à Seigy, dans le Loir et Cher, en Tourain en 1929, il entre à l'école des Beaux-Arts de Tours en 1945 où il a pour patron Maurice Mathurin, peintre à tendance impressioniste qui lui donne l'amour de la lumière. En 1950 i entre à l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, dans l'atelier de Jean Dupas. Il passe ensuite 27 mois en Afrique du Nord, pour son service militaire et en revient avec un goût prononcé pour les couleurs ocres, brunes et la luminosité des terres désertiques. Il peint alors à l'huile des paysage à la matière puissante. En octobre 1957 il passe deux ans en Espagne , après avoir obtenu le Prix de la Casa Velasquez. Il remportera ensuite de nombreux prix et exposera en France et à l'Etranger. En 1970 il est nommé Prefesseur à l'Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré à Paris. Il a réalisé de nombreuses lithigraphies ainsi que des animations murales (mosaïques) pour des collèges et lycées. Il figure dans les collections de l'Etat et de la Ville de Paris ainsi que dans de nombreuses collections particulières. Professeur honoraire et Chevalier dans l'orde des Palmes Académiques. Il peint depsuis plus de trente ans à l'acrylique des paysage sensuels et oniriques.

André Plisson est un artiste dont l'oeuvre est reconnue en France et bien au delà de nos frontières. Sans jamais se contenter des nombreux prix jalonnant sa carrière, il continue à peindre, à interroger cette matière qui garde encore tant de secret. Claude Leguen résume avec poésie cet attachement charnel : "Plisson est un paysan et peint comme à Vouvray on travaille la vigne. IL a le poids de la terre dans les reins, dans ses mains..."
L'artiste peint dans la matité de l'acrylique, joue avec la subtilité des dégradés de gris colorés. Sûr de son métier, sa peinture renonce "aux effets" par exigence. Chaque détail du tableau n'existe que par rapport à l'ensemble. Ainsi les corps à l'Antique se fondent avec harmonie dans leur environnement. Sa palette faussement monochrome contribue à l'unité de la composition.
Etrange peinture qui à travers la diversité des ses thèmes capte le silence en image. Les portes entrouvertes, rhétorique récurrente de ses oeuvres, symbolisent la passage vers l'inconnu. A moins qu'elles ne soient la métaphore inconsciente du peintre et de sa quête perpetuelle. La présence sourde de ces lieux géométriques et dépouillés nous font pénétrer dans un monde imaginaire qui n'a pas renoncé aux attributs de la réalité.
Complexité d'une oeuvre capable de questionner les mécanismes constitutifs du réel tout en révélant sa dimension imaginaire. Complexité plastique, quand le dessin, d'une grande précision, laisse le trait presque invisible.
