Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Manifest Destiny is a series based upon the balance of what actions and thoughts are manifest from the choices we make, and what actions are destiny or chaos events outside our control. In Trinity I have explored the development and use of the atomic bomb through the first test on July 16, 1945 originally called Trinity (as seen in the middle cloud image), the first drop on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 (as seen in the far right cloud image), and the second drop on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945 (as seen in the far left cloud image).
The manifested actions of the scientists who developed the atomic bomb, the military men who witnessed and pushed for the use of the bomb, and the members of the government who made these decisions (including President Harry Truman) are represented by the many news clippings, personal accounts, and even diary pages used as the painting's background. The clouds themselves also represent the manifestation of their actions.
Destiny is represented by the many accounts of the then survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki also seen in the background of the painting, as well as the natal charts mapping the time, place, and situation of the stars of those ill-fated days.
From those days forward, man had indeed manifested a destiny they could never have imagined. A destiny filled with fear from the use of these weapons by other countries against us (which is still occuring today), and shame from the devestation this nation rarely discusses causing to several hundreds of thousands of not only victims in Japan, but in the hearts and minds of every American who knows just what our government is capable of doing.
