This painting is basically the answer to a previous large painting (also 60''x48'') entitled ''Narcissus''(Narcisse)
One can notice Elodie.M Richard ' s predilection to work with primary colors and characteristic white outlines.
There is also a dialogue between solid colors and areas where the light seems to come from the back of the canvas, as it would with a stained glass work.
The woman character is recurrent in her work and appears in other paintings she did, such as ''Intertwined'' or ''The Inner Window''.
Narcissus flowers emerge from her body as she experiences her own metamorphosis.
There is a strong reference to the myth of Narcissus.

Elodie M. Richard was born in France but with a complex heritage including Polish and Russian. Due to her father’s career in the Army her family had to regularly move and adapt to new locations in France and abroad.
