Acabamento brilhante
Além de sua espessura excepcional, o papel de fibra é composto de uma base de alfa-celulose sem ácido e é coberto com sulfato de bário e pigmentos que melhoram a absorção da camada microporosa durante a impressão. Com uma cor branca pura, não amarelecendo à luz, este papel foi especialmente projetado para resistência e envelhecimento. Mathematical functions used in physics turn into an ethereal structure. A fragile spaceport.
White light is turned into rainbow colors by a diffraction grating, a set of fine lines displaced by fractions of a millimeter.
The curves forming the Sparse Spectral Spaceport are built from the curves that describe how the intensity of colored, diffracted light changes with direction.
This dark image illuminated by the graphs of mathematical function is an amalgam of the phenomenon as you see it - diffracted, rainbow-colored light, and the underlying mathematics. Both are beautiful.

Since early childhood, elkement had been fascinated by the pure spectral colors of the rainbow and by the physics underlying their creation. Forming structures from diffraction patterns that are both based on exact math and that resemble the patterns you actually see encapsulates the beauty of the phenomena as everybody can experience them, as well as the beauty of the underlying math.
elkement is a physicist by training who fondly remembers her high school classes in descriptive geometry and fine art.
