My name is Elizabeth García and I sign as Megam. I started in the art world in 2014 as a self-taught visual artist, painting on canvas with oils and watercolors. I have participated in exhibitions of artistic paintings, promoting Peruvian art, in the squares of different neighborhoods of Lima and in public institutions.
Over time, my interest in disseminating ancient Peruvian cultures and historical sites of ancient and contemporary Lima in different expressions and techniques led me to enter the world of crafts and the art of recycling. This is how I obtained the National Registry of Artisans and later I participated in the "First Crafts Contest for Lima", 2021, of which I was a finalist.
For this reason, I was invited to participate in fairs organized by the Municipality of Lima where I also exhibited my paintings and gave classes in the workshops.
In 2022, I participated in the "Second Crafts Contest for Lima", with my artisan line of painting, modeling contemporary Lima, traditions, dances and music of which I was also a finalist.
My motivation is to continue disseminating the pre-Hispanic and contemporary cultural wealth, expressing history, landscapes, customs, etc., in new creations, abstract, impressionist and other styles on canvas and reaching a wider audience internationally.
Thank you A lot.
Megam
