Ekaterina Pytina, born in 1989, is a contemporary Russian painter based in the UK. Her work draws inspiration from calming and thought-provoking moments, often captured in her paintings through the use of watercolors. She appreciates the surprising and unpredictable interaction between water and paper, likening it to the natural flow of life.
Pytina's art reflects simple, serene moments such as the morning light filtering through a window or a quiet evening by the water. She favors simplicity and authenticity, often depicting everyday scenes like a cup of tea on a windowsill or an old cottage surrounded by flowers. She allows viewers to find their own meanings in her work, avoiding detailed explanations.
Surrounded by paints and brushes from a young age, Pytina turned to painting as a means of self-expression and sharing her perspective on the world. Her works have been exhibited globally and are featured in private collections worldwide. Currently living in London, she continues to explore and develop her watercolor technique, embracing the medium's unique possibilities.
