This painting is from my short trip across the Murmansk region, located beyond the Polar Circle. It was a gorgeous place! Strong northern hills and mountains covered with rich flora, consisting mainly of mosses, lichens and berries, created an extraordinary palette of ocher, purple, silver and a little green. And in contrast to them was the deep blue of the Barents Sea. This place caused me a storm of emotions because the nature of that region is so different from the landscapes I am used to.

Ekaterina Glazkova is a contemporary Russian landscape painter based in Serbia. Her journey in the realm of art has been nothing short of a lifelong odyssey, fueled by an unyielding passion for drawing and a rich educational background in environmental design.

In the early chapters of her artistic narrative, Ekaterina delved into the realm of commercial illustration, leaving an indelible mark with her creations for microstocks. Proficient in both watercolor and vector techniques, she breathed life into her imaginative visions, contributing to the visual tapestry of commercial art.

However, it was in the realm of oil painting that Ekaterina discovered the true extent of her artistic freedom. Liberated by the expressive qualities of this medium, she embarked on a journey that transcended the constraints of commercial illustration, allowing her creativity to unfurl in its purest form.

A wanderer at heart, Ekaterina's love for travel serves as a muse, shaping her artistic endeavors in profound ways. Every destination that has left an imprint on her soul becomes more than just a place; it transforms into a canvas through which she communicates its unique essence to the world. Through her art, Ekaterina captures not only the visual beauty of landscapes but also the emotional resonance that each place holds.

Her distinctive artistic language is a testament to her ability to merge the tangible and the intangible, inviting viewers to explore the world through her eyes. Ekaterina Glazkova's landscapes are not just visual representations but emotive narratives, weaving together the beauty of nature and the depth of human experience.
