However, at the time the photo was taken, the idea arose to boost the expressivnes of the resulting images through strong color contrasts. The aim was to immerse parts of the photograph in blood red in order to clearly illustrate the actual act of the murder of the Jews to whom this memorial is dedicated.
For this purpose, the original photo was converted into a black-and-white image, whose shades were reduced to four shades of gray using a clustering process. The reuslting picture was colored manually.
The artwork is available as fine art print (paper format 70 x 50 cm, print format 60 x 40 cm) on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g/m2 in a Limited Edition of 25 pieces (Hahnenmühle Certificate of Authenticity, hologram number 428234 to 428258) and will be signed by the artist.
