Dominique Corti is a contemporary French artist whose creative journey began with classical art studies in the picturesque city of Aix en Provence. These foundational studies paved the way for her admission to the School of Fine Arts in Lyon, a city renowned for its silk factories. In Lyon, Dominique immersed herself in a wide array of artistic disciplines, including still lifes, landscapes, architectural studies, and fabric reproductions, mastering techniques such as oil painting, watercolor, pastel, and charcoal.
Following her studies in Lyon, Dominique ventured to Paris to further explore her personal artistic vision, gradually transitioning towards a more refined and simplified style that leaned increasingly towards abstraction. Throughout her artistic evolution, color has remained Dominique's primary passion, serving as the cornerstone of her recent and future works.
Upon completing her studies in Paris, Dominique embarked on a journey to Switzerland, where she exhibited her art regularly in Zurich and Neuchâtel for many years. Eventually, she returned to France, settling in the Provençal region of Aix en Provence, a source of inspiration for countless artists throughout history.
Today, Dominique continues to create art that is characterized by structured geometry and nuanced color palettes, reflecting her lifelong dedication to exploring the vibrant and dynamic world of color. Her works invite viewers to contemplate the interplay of form and hue, evoking a sense of harmony and beauty that transcends the boundaries of traditional artistic genres.
