In 1971 the artist Dominga Pascali was born in Calimera in the province of Lecce with the desire to stand out, create, leave a mark.
The pictorial form is its guide.
As a child she attended the first painting courses. In 1986 he ranked in 3rd place ex aequo in the XIIth interregional painting competition "G. Cuomo" of Salerno, where, together with the prize, he also received the congratulations of the Hon. Dario Antoniozzi. This first pictorial phase begins to mature with the search for other styles and other techniques, which the artist gradually experiments, and which will lead it into its second phase. These are the years of the art degree in Lecce when the play of shapes and emotions of color begins: ink, watercolor, wax crayons, oil pastels, ecoline, pyrography, charcoal, oil on board; a path that will lead her to Florence where, after graduation, she obtains the qualification to practice as an architect. The 90s are almost ending, and in his initially realistic pictorial style of adolescence, the first changes are beginning to take place. The bright shades, the landscapes, the nature, the precise detail, are directed towards a conceptual transformation that will lead her to fall in love and be influenced by great artists: Kandinskij, Paul Klee, Gustav Klimt, Mondrian, H.R. Giger, Tamara De Lempicka.
The radical stylistic turning point is near.
Dominga begins to listen to his growing moods, his profound research on the evolution of man who from instinctive nature is projected towards a strong rationality that imprisons him in a more closed dimension, that of the city. And then the man-woman union, which is expressed in a symbolic charge of vertical straight lines, circles, arrows,
It is, total abstraction.
Among the most prestigious spaces that have hosted his works on the occasion of group exhibitions with internationally renowned artists such as Enrico Benaglia, it is worth mentioning "Palazzo Rospigliosi" in Zagarolo with the gallery "Purificato-Zero."
