The artwork is acrylic on canvas and could be defined as a mix of impressionistic and realistic style. The artist sails herself, so she knows very well what she paints, the sails, regattas and yachts are a part of her life. This is why you can see here the real position of the boats and sails settings. These yachts really move with the wind. You can also feel the dynamics of the race and the temperature of the atmosphere. Aseeva applies acrylic in thick layers as oil paint and uses palette knife to create vibration of the atmosphere. She says: "I love sailing and last year participated in Giraglia Rolex 2021 - an iconic regatta in Italy. The race, sails and sea are a unique experience. I managed to make watercolors during the race(!) and then I used them to create bigger pictures. I also took lots of photos and I use only my references for the artworks, working with the things I really have seen and I know"
Please, note: Actual colours may vary due to photography & computer settings.

The artwork is made with high quality colours and is covered with a varnish layer in order to protect the surface from dust and adverse environment. The artwork is stretched on a supported wooden frame and is ready to hang. The borders are white, so it doesn't need framing. The artwork is signed from the front and back side. Certificate of Authenticity signed by the author comes along.

Dina Aseeva is an artist living aboard. Several months a year she lives in a beautiful bay near Dalaman in Turkey where she has a studio near the sea. The rest of the year she travels with a sailboat painting during the sea transit and stays, collecting new impressions and colors for new artworks.

She started to paint with watercolor when she was 2 years old, since then it became her great passion and one of her favorite mediums. After formal education which she got at Voronezh Art School and Stroganov Art Academy, Dina continued to explore  possibilities of watercolor, different styles and techniques, moving from the  classical concept of painting to more elusive and expressionistic one. She successfully participated in workshops of the famous contemporary watercolorists: Alvaro Castagnet, Endré Penovac, Alexander Votsmush, Konstantin Sterkhov and the masters appreciated her artworks and style. She also worked in oil and pastel, when finally discovered acrylic. This medium which combines properties of oil and watercolor gave her a vast field for experiments and became a start for a new phase in her artistic life. Dina is hugely inspired by impressionism and expressionism, nevertheless she likes working in her unique style and developing her own artistic language.

Dina participated in local and international exhibitions since childhood. When she was 7 years old she gained her first prize for the  best artwork dedicated to the Second World war, later this artwork took part in an international exhibition in the USA. Her artworks are presented in private collections and galleries in Russia, Europe, Turkey, Israel, the USA and South America. A series of her watercolors and sketches were bought by Alexander Alekseev for his Gallery of Contemporary Art in Gelendzhik, Russia.

In 2022 she presented more than 100 paintings in her solo show “Summer of sails” in Sarsala bay, Dalaman. The artworks were inspired by her journeys of the year 2021 when she crossed 5 seas, visited numerous islands and traveled more than 4500 nautical miles. A big part of the artworks were sold and are presented now in the private collections all around the world.
