Keith Skinner
Inspired by Ansel Adams dedication, perseverance and raw talent, Keith creates images that capture timeless moments of natural beauty. Sharply attuned to the interface of land and water, he uses his art to explore the many facets of those environments, encouraging the viewer to appreciate it with different eyes than before.
The bayous and swamps of northeast Louisiana have always held Keith in their magical spell, being first cast as a child on the many hunting and fishing trips he accompanied his Father and brother on. This magnetic attraction has now drawn him to live close to his childhood home, Bayou Bartholomew from which he draws limitless inspiration. He has been compelled to look closer and closer at his wildlife and nature subjects, discovering unimaginable colors, patterns and textures that are invisible from a distance.
Moreover, he has found these to make exquisite fine art images and the more he finds, the more he realizes that his search for new subjects has only just begun. He now sees the natural world through different eyes, always searching for shapes, patterns, colors and hues that combine to form an image that expresses the essence of his subjects.

Photography has replaced many of my former hobbies. I was an avid outdoorsman and hunter most of my life.
I have utilized the many things taught to me by my Father as a young man in my photography work and will go the extra mile to get an image.
There are times I will pack my handmade Pirogue (small wooden Cajun boat) with supplies to last several days and head into the swamps and wetlands in my native Louisiana. I do this for several reasons: 1) I like to shoot in areas that can only be reached by alternative modes of transportation where there is less pressure on the wildlife; 2) I am a light chaser - and will sit for hours on one scene to achieve the perfect natural lighting for my subject.
I look at the transformation from hunter to photographer as the ultimate form of catch and release...
