A photographer based in Kolkata, working on photography as an art for more than 20 years; I try to tell different stories through my images and emphasise on different aspects normally we are likely to overlook. Have exhibited photographs in prestigious salons, both national and international, and have contributed photographs to popular journals and books, including the book called "Calcutta the living City" published by Oxford Press. Some of the major achievments include 2nd award in Nikon Photo Contest International in 1987-88, State Academy Award, Better Photography Photographer of the year (Still life) 2007.
Held two solo exhibitions on Kolkata, the city as a theme and several group exhibitions, the recent being “Tales From the Woods” in May 2006 and “Tales From the Woods II” in August 2007 in the Academy of Fine Arts.
Currently working on a project called “Poetry Through Light”.
