Oftentimes, the dark silhouettes of strangers are depicted in dark paintings to convey the atmosphere of the mysterious night. However, the author of this canvas decided to experiment and depicted the figure of a mysterious stranger against a background of light colors.
The plot of the painting is open to imagination. You can imagine yourself, walking along a sunny street filled with daylight. Suddenly, you come across a man in a black cloak and hat, who after a few moments disappears into the crowd.
Your imagination will immediately start drawing pictures and asking questions. Perhaps this man is some kind of mysterious agent or time traveler, or just an eccentric person who decided to put on a black cloak and hat on this warm sunny day, or perhaps this outfit is a part of his style, or is he hiding something?
The artist left many open questions for the imagination of the viewer.
