Yasuo Kiyonaga wurde 1948 in der Präfektur Kagawa in Japan geboren und ist von Tokio, Kyoto und Paris aus tätig. Beeinflusst von Jean-Eugène Atget und Aaron Siskind entschied er sich 1966 für die Fotografie. Nach seinem Abschluss an der Fotografieschule im Jahr 1970 trat er Recruit Co. bei und gründete 1980 SHC, das heute in diesem Sektor führend ist.
Kiyonaga ist seit langem in der Welt des Fotojournalismus tätig und stellt sich neuen Herausforderungen an der Spitze des Fortschritts in der Unternehmenskommunikation.
