FLUX: On The Road (Film Screening & Artist Talk)
Mimar Sinan, Atlas Pavyon, Konak/İzmir, Türkiye
FLUX started with a collection of video art works, an ongoing research on constant change and balance, through the narrative of elements.
It aims to point out the continuous loop of moving inward and outward, washing away the duality of "inside" and "outside", encouraging to find a common ground to be the observer and the observee concurrently.
Curating and exhibiting of the first chapter Water, commenced in 2022, however, the filming period did not start as a planned work - the concept build itself naturally and instinctively. Following the first two exhibitions of FLUX, the project has evolved and developed into a short film project, FLUX : On The Road.
It is a narrative on breaking the cyclic existence, a story of transformation through Detachment, inspired from the ancient Vedic Mantra;
”Om purnamadah purnamidam purnat purnamudachyate purnasya purnamadaya purnamevavashisyate.”
which could be translated as;
”That is infinite, this is infinite; from that, this comes. This added or removed from that, the infinite remains as infinite.“
FLUX : On The Road may be summarized as a story of Attachment and Detachment, which may as well be defined with the notion of Alignment and Nonalignment. It is the journey of two wanderers, crossing paths, falling in love and falling apart, repeatedly; a continuous loop of encounters beyond timelines and lifespans, and finally realizing the illusion of the duality of being “me” and “you”:
There is only being part of a whole. Being one.
The film is named after the concept, as it build itself on the road, as like the video art collection. The script originates from a collection of true stories, gathered along the way since 2012 and is accompanied by unplanned footages from different parts of the world, from different landscapes, seasons and cultures, from Cambodia, Greece, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Maldives, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey and the United States, from the desert, the mountains, the jungle, the ocean, the sea and the air.
In pursuit of Balance and Stillness in a State of Motion.

FLUX (2o2o - 2o22)
FLUX is a narrative on constant change and balance.
Inaction in action. It's the process of flowing.
Human mind is like a little child.
It's capable of simultaneous narratives juxtaposed in such a ravishing way that
it shifts faster than the speed of light:
You cannot stop it. You cannot control it.
It's fascinated by all. It's nothing and everything.
It's nowhere and everywhere. And it is incalculable.
The unsteady mind is like an avalanche. It's fast and there's no clear vision.
Only when it settles, there is a conception of the surroundings, however it never stops.
It keeps moving gradually. It's calm and centered.
FLUX is the depiction of the focused mind, through the narrative of elements.
A continuous loop of moving inward and outward,
washing away the duality of "inside" and "outside".
“The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.
A process cannot be understood by stopping it.
Understanding must move with the flow of the process, must join it and flow with it."
FLUX is inviting the audience to get on the stage, to flow together,
encouraging to find a common ground to be the observer and the observee concurrently.
In pursuit of balance and stillness in a state of motion.
