David Kalimeris
Lives and works in France, holds a Higher Diploma of Applied Arts in Graphic & Digital Design.
A French art and engineering designer, David Kalimeris is recognized for his works imbued with surrealism and fantastic art. Passionate about art, culture, science and literature, he integrates traditional and digital techniques into his work, using disruptive workflows such as fractal art. He thus offers a singular approach to obscure art, drawing inspiration from illustrious authors such as H.R. Giger, J. Bosch and H.P. Lovecraft.
David explores themes such as poetry, fantasy, philosophy and the fantastic, seeking to visually transpose complex concepts. While paying tribute to these artists and perpetuating their legacy, he refreshes their spirit by nourishing the human eye and imagination. His work, presented on Art Majeur (without AI), combines fractal art and digital painting, while including traditional works and performances in pen, paint or airbrush. The compositions can be meticulously reworked in Photoshop, supported by a particular airbrush style for a total immersion in the image.
The treatment of stencils and patterns, generated specifically for a unique creative integration, dialogues with the unconscious and the imagination. He gives life to intangible or conceptual forms, where the colorful harmony invites the union of chiaroscuro and formless primordial forces, anchored in our ontological anteriority, to blossom through artistic creativity.
His works are aimed at those who wish to be part of a contemporary artistic subculture, mixing depth of reflection and symbolic expression, as evidenced by the ZETETIKA and ONIRIKON series.
David's digital creations, in UHD (8K), are intended to be exhibited in digital galleries or printed on giclée-type art prints. The color processing, optimized in true color and calibrated for museum lighting, reveals all the details of the brushes, brushes, sketches on high-end paintings.
After 30 years of experience in the professions of creation and image, engineering or artistic teaching, David's creative approach remains passionate. His research is part of a humanist approach aimed at valuing intelligence and transmission, awakening a latent sensitivity, and promoting artistic and cultural vectors.
