I wanted to capture this moment.
When the person is both happy and frightened by what she sees when she opens her eyes:
Familiar things will no longer carry the same meaning.
Everything will change. It scares.
But knowing that it's for the best is encouraging.
She had passed another phase of her life.
She has handled all the tasks.
Now she will open her eyes and continue her path with renewed vigor.
Colours:
GOLD is an allegory of how in icons, with the help of gold and yellow colors, they denoted another, extraterrestrial world.
The person of my painting had a transition to a new level of consciousness.
While the world around her remained the same, her inside world had completely changed.
The BLUE color of the dress is a reference to discipline. Which at the same time fetters and supports. It helps to achieve the goal at all costs.
YELLOW flowers are both: warm peacefulness and at the same time it is a reference to an autumn. Everything old will die. And you will need to go through the most difficult moment (winter) before the long-awaited spring and prosperity comes.
Therefore, there is no blissful happiness on the face, but only a timid smile from the joy of the transition and the readiness to gather strength and continue on her path.
