Gisèle DARRIEUX est née à Tarbes (Htes Pyrénées) elle peint depuis l'âge de douze ans, suivant conscieusement les enseignements de son grand père paternel, talentueux peintre qui l'emmenait avec lui sur les bords de l'Adour ou il aimait travailler.
Par la suite, fréquenta, au grè des déplacements de son père ( officier de carrière dans l'Armée) plusieurs ateliers de peinture, , puis, par la suite, entra à l'Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts du Ministère des Postes à Paris et à l'Ecole de la Grande Chaumière.
Passionnée par son Art, elle s'essaya à plusieurs techniques, passant d'un figuratif réaliste à l'abstrait avec le même bonheur .
Elle vit et travaille maintenant à St Jean Cap Ferrat - petit paradis entre Nice et Monaco, où elle est installée depuis 45 années.
Elle fut durant presque 12 années, Présidente des Artistes Indépendant de Nice et de la Côte d'Azur, organisant d'un bout du département à l'autre de nombreux Salons pour les adhérents de son Association.Obligée de démissionner de son poste par de très graves raisons de santé, elle fonda, par la suite, l'Association" Cap Ferrat Art International", organisant des Grands Salons Internationaux de Professionnels et semi-pro (plus de 31 nations) puis créa enfin l'Association St Jean des Arts et la Galerie Municipale du même nom, ou elle exerça durant plus de 10 années- la maladie l'ayant rattrapée, elle continue tout même de peindre un peu, faisant chaque année des expositions personnelles à St Jean Cap Ferrat.
