Danielle Siauw
Danielle is a self-taught artist who specialises in acrylic painting. She grows up in a very artistic family who is constantly involved in drawing, painting, crafting and music. She has been drawing/painting and playing the piano since 6 years old. She started painting professionally in 2006. Her vibrant paintings often depict bright colours and textured surfaces using a combination of acrylic paints and mix media as seen in her gallery. She does not want to bucket herself in one style of painting. For her, it is about experimentation through the inspiration from daily life. She aspires to be an artist’s artist instead of one who goes purely for commercial reasons. By this, she strives to improve her painting techniques and learning new ones. She graduated with a Degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore. Her day profession is in e-commerce and digital marketing.

About Me
I love art. I enjoy admiring the creations of other artists. My interest in art is very wide. It spans from visual art, like paintings, scupltures, architecture, interior design and fashion design to performance art, like music and dance.
I get a lot of inspiration from nature, especially flowers because of their lucious and bright colours as well as their proportion, symmetry and form...wonders bestowed by God.
Music is also a source of my inspiration. My favourite genres are Bossa Nova Jazz and classical music. Bossa Nova jazz elevates my mood with its happy, up-beat and tropical tunes (Imagine yourself in a luxurious beach resort, lazing by the pristine beach and crystal clear waters, under the warm, bright sun, sipping fruit cocktail...get what I mean). My art work tends to reflect this mood with the use of bright colours.
I am classically trained in piano. Classical music is so inspiring. To me, it is an equivalent of watching "Lord of the Rings", like hearing fantasy. My favourite composer is Chopin. I am always deeply moved by the romantic and sometimes melancholic tunes of Chopin. Rachmaninov never fails to bring out the dramatic mood with its wide variety of feelings from sad to angry to happy to romantic. Grieg's music is like a painting. It draws you into the moment (imagine yourself galloping though the forest on a handsome stallion hunting for rabbits and foxes), so surreal.
I actually started drawing and painting at a very young age. I remember that I used to draw on my Chinese textbooks during Chinese lessons instead of concentrating on my studies...hahaha. I kind of lost touch with my artistic side for many years until recently and I am now hooked.
My greatest dream is to have my work showcased in world renown galleries and museums. My other dream is to be a concert pianist. However, I am happy and contented with my humble online gallery and entertaining myself on the piano.
This website is wholly created and designed by me. Hope you enjoy your visit and come back again. I will be posting my latest works from time to time.
