Daniel Sanchez is a contemporary French sculptor whose work focuses on exploring the inner world through the medium of matter. His unique approach seeks to reveal deeper truths about existence, aiming to uncover beauty and profound nature from within.
Being self-taught gave him the strength he needed to engage the material and put his primal need to create to the test. He worked with wood, resin, and marble during the years. Sanchez now prefers to work in absolute improvisation, especially with the marble that he goes looking for in the Pyrenees and sculpts as is. This allows him to engage in interaction with the stone and whatever he is experiencing at the time. Even if we identify the characteristic style, each time it opens on distinct and quite different sculptures.
Sanchez's sculptures have been exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally. Notable recent exhibitions include the Salon SMART in Aix-en-Provence and Maison de la Région in Albi in 2023. He has also showcased his work at the Galerie 41 in Lyon and the B612 collective in Toulouse in 2021. In previous years, Sanchez has participated in events such as Art Shopping at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and Art Tentation in Monaco. His work has been prominently featured in various prestigious venues, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts and Musée d'Arts Moderne in Dalian, China.
