In 1951 I was born in a snug area of Germany. Soon I learned to escape nappies and my playpen. On a tricyle I had early   experiences of almost unlimited freedom. First successful fights as a redskin fought against cowboys from the neighbourhood.

Then twelve long years of accumulated knowledge, chosen by others. After that the redskin feather on my stuffed and alienated head got    broken by a steel helmet, without my permission. The wooden tomahawk got replaced by a real murder weapon.

Finally, after that narrow world of olive-green uniform and cold steel the vast, unfettered and colourful world of art followed.

From 1972 to 1976 studied art at the Bodensee-Kunsthochschule Constance, under Professor Paul Dietrich (graphic design), Professor  Markus Hoffman (typography and print technology), Professor Gretel Dietrich-Schopen (composition), Professor Horst Schwaiger (art history, architecture and perspective), Professor Walther Mathysiak (fine art) and Professor Heinz Finke (photography).

Thanks to my broad education I am fortunate enough to be able to enjoy two lives now: one as a freelance artist and the other as an independent graphic designer.

In both lives I am most happily married to the same wonderful wife.
