This is my first solo exhibition entitled Cailín (Girl). The pieces describe the rights of passage of a modern woman on an emotional level. I use theatrical themes to portray various scenarious. I predominantly use oil on canvas but incorporate other mediums like gold leaf, hessin and even nail polish on occassion. My technique is bold and textured and I enjoy using empasto and complimentary colour.

Biography
I was born in South Africa and moved to Ireland with my family when I was eighteen. I studied painting and photography at The National School of the Arts in Johannesburg and Graphic design at LSAD in Ireland. I adore the work of the Impressionists, Seccessionalists and Art Nouveau and have spent my life drooling over the illustrations of fantasy Artists like Brom, Simon Bisley, Borris Valleijo and Jim Fitzpatrick. I guess I descided that painting was my passion and so now, here I am. I am a Realist and have a rather bold and explicit style and use mixed media and empasto. I am fascinated by brushwork and the use of complimentary colour.
I have always been passionate about all the disciplines in the world of Art and look forward to a life filled with Dance, Drama, Music and Art always!

I will be holding my first solo exhibition and there will be 30 works on display. The entire body of work took two years to put together but I feel it is going to be a wonderous and exciting evening.
