Claudel Lacroix is a contemporary Canadian artist. After obtaining a college diploma in Visual Arts, she pursued law studies at university and spent several years advising artists in the fields of copyright, advertising, and entertainment. Her path eventually led her back to the arts, particularly floral art, after completing professional studies in floristry, where she was immersed in the daily experience of working with shapes and colors.
Since 2014, Lacroix has been painting full-time in her studio located in Saint-Sauveur in the Laurentians, Quebec, Canada. Guided by intuition, her artistic language invites viewers to engage in play, moving away from traditional mental processes. This visceral need to break free from logical constraints allows her to paint the imaginary with the spontaneity and authenticity of a liberated mind.
Lacroix is known for her colorful and distinctive style, using acrylics and mixed techniques to create works that reflect her inexhaustible imagination. Her playful, intuitive, and authentic approach captivates those who encounter her art. Her ability to simplify reality and invent universes beyond the mind’s limits continues to fascinate her audience.
