Ciano
Ciano’s art merges the grit of street art, graffiti, and expressionism, resulting in compositions that are both raw and contemporary. His work is defined by bold colors with an untamed edge, layered with personal stories, reflections on subcultures, nostalgia, consumerism, and sharp social commentary.
From a young age, Ciano was drawn to the world of art. As a child, he displayed remarkable talent, earning numerous local awards for his creative endeavors. However, life took an unexpected turn, and his passion for art gave way to his love for music. For 16 years, Ciano immersed himself in DJing and music production, leaving behind his cherished brushes and canvases.
But life has a way of bringing us back to our roots. In 2011, a twist of fate—brought on by a recession and redundancy from his main job—pushed Ciano back toward art. The economic downturn forced many to reassess their lives, and for Ciano, it was a sign to reignite his artistic flame.
Fueled by a new sense of purpose, Ciano embarked on a journey of self-discovery and creative exploration. While working part-time as a framer, he enrolled in local art classes and began experimenting with different styles and techniques, searching for his artistic voice. Though he had a vision, he was still uncovering what he truly wanted his art to express.

New Artwork entitled ' The Warehouse'
This artwork draws inspiration from the House music subculture that emerged in Chicago, Illinois, USA, during the 1980s. This cultural movement brought together people of different races, sexual orientations, and backgrounds through a shared love of music and dance, and is characterized by its repetitive beats, synthesized melodies, and soulful vocals.
The term "house music" originated from a club called "The Warehouse," where DJ Frankie Knuckles played his unique blend of disco, funk, and soulful music. The club quickly became a refuge for people seeking to escape the racism and homophobia of the outside world.
As this subculture spread beyond Chicago to other cities in the United States and eventually gained a global following, it became synonymous with the idea of inclusivity, freedom, and expression. It significantly influenced the dance music scene of the 1990s.
This original painting serves as a representation of the sense of inclusivity and self-expression that characterized the House music subculture. It embodies the idea of a space where one can be free to express themselves without fear of judgment. As such, it is a fitting tribute to a movement that helped unite people from diverse backgrounds through the power of music and dance.
