I made a design in an old styrofoam plate with little thought or pre-planning. I didn't want to get caught up in details or obsessing if something was wrong. I made a design in an old styrofoam plate with little thought or pre-planning. I didn't want to get caught up in details or obsessing if something was wrong. Just make something for the sake of making it. I have to yet refine my printmaking technique, as some parts ended up being globby, but that's ok. The texture of the paper looks really nice where it shows through.

The writing on the bottom is Greek for octopus, or, at least, what Babelfish thinks is Greek for octopus. In hindsight, I should have checked with my father.

Acrylic on textured paper.

The natural world is my main inspiration. Through close observation I seek to understand the world better. Layers, emotion and concepts hold great meaning for me and I strive to include them as much as possible. I primarily use pencil crayons and chalk pastels, but thoroughly enjoyed my Painting 101 class and plan on using acrylics more. Some day I hope to be able to attend ACAD full-time. My favourite artists include Fred Remington, Delacroix, Ralph Steadman, El Greco and Tom Thomson. I currently reside in Alberta with my husband.

I attend the Alberta College of Art & Design on a continuing education basis. In about three years time I will complete all ten classes required for first year studies. After that, I hope to be able to attend full or part time.
