Christian is a figurative animal sculptor. He excels in the accuracy of movement and expression. The look, passionate and precise, offers the gesture a beautiful fidelity in the natural attitude of the animal. His work touches us through the life that transpires through the material.
Modeling was an integral part of his childhood, but it was during his adolescence that he consolidated his talent with northern ceramists. His career as a riding instructor and regional technical advisor ensures that he is close at all times to horses, of which he knows every fold of skin.
Christian Bigeast sculpts domestic and wild fauna. He creates clay sculptures with bronze or lithopone white patina, cracked or smoky ceramics using the rakü technique. These lands are always unique pieces which will not be presented in bronze. Some sculptures go directly to the foundry.
