Hello, my name is Michelle Block. I live in the South East of England.

I mainly work with graphite pencil, pen and ink and pastels, pastels being my favourite at the moment.

I would describe myself as a bit of a perfectionist. I try to capture as much detail as I see into my drawings. I love drawing animals, places that I have been to and whatever catches my eye in nature. When I draw animals in pencil, I tend to draw lots of little strokes, almost as if I am drawing each strand of fur.

I have recently been chosen for a new project called Phone Art, you may soon be able to download art as wallpaper onto your phone. I had to make up a square sized picture, which would stand out on a small screen. I made a pastel painting of the capital of Rome in gorgeous summer sunset. Out of 20 artists work, mine was chosen, so I am pleased about that, there will be an exhibition of all the originals next year - keep you posted.

I have some framed work in The Gallery in Essex, where they take commissions. I have lots of plans for craft fairs and exhibitions. I will keep you up to date on the exhibitions page as I set the dates.

The price is dependent on the medium and subject. As a rough estimate a drawing of a cat, on A4 paper, in pencil would be £40. A pastel drawing would probably be between £60 and £80 depending on the size and subject.
