LILIANA LAMANNA

Liliana Lamanna was born in Crotone, where she lives and works. Since she was a child she has had a strong passion for art and in particular for painting. She graduated in 1984 in Foreign Languages ​​with the thesis "The Pre-Raphaelites between Art and Literature" supported by Prof. Girolamo De Vanna Americanist and art critic of the "Museo de Vanna" Foundation of Bitonto (Puglia) and by Prof. Corrado Gizzi Dante scholar of the Castle "La casa di Dante" in Torre De 'Passeri (Pescara) thanks to whom she came into contact with the curators of the Tate Gallery in London. She began her higher education at the Art High School of Catanzaro which she attended for only one year, later moving on to the Classical High School "Pitagora" in Crotone. In 1979 she attended for a year the “University of Dayton”, Ohio USA where she passed the course: “Principles of design” with Prof. Weber; she subsequently specialized in teaching English at the “Marble Arch Institute” in London. Since 2002 she has dedicated herself both to painting, under the guidance of the architect Luigi Tamanini of Florence trained at the school of Nerina Simi, and to the study of art history. In 2010 she collaborated in the creation of the Calendar for the Equal Opportunities sector of the Province of Crotone by exhibiting her painting “November” at the Castle of Santa Severina and then at the “Lega Navale” section of Crotone together with eleven other artists. He participated in the collective promoted by the association "Fare Insieme" in Piazza Mercato, (Crotone) with the works: "La Signora dei Sassi", "Il mio cucciolo" and "Delirio rosa: profumi" and in a series of events at the MACK (Museo Arte Contemporanea Krotone) with the paintings "Scelte" and "L'uccello della notte" and many others throughout the country. He visits many exhibitions and museums in Italy and abroad every year. He edits the column "Incontri in una marea d'arte" for the magazine KAIROS.
