Cathou-Bazec, a passionate amateur painter and photographer, devotes her art to capturing the beauty of the animal kingdom. Fascinated by colors and textures, she mainly creates portraits of animals from photos, working in acrylic and watercolor on modest formats, often on watercolor paper. An animal lover, they are her favorite subjects, although a few flowers sometimes enrich her palette.
Her artistic journey began during walks in the aisles of plastic art supplies, where the wonder of colors awakened in her the desire to paint. Self-taught at heart, Cathou-Bazec began by drawing cats and then took a few classes to master color mixing and the basics of drawing. While landscapes remain a challenge for her due to the complexity of the perspectives, she excels in portraits, whether human or animal, with a marked preference for dry pastel, watercolor and acrylic.
Since January 2022, she has also been engaged in pebble painting, finding in this practice a renewed pleasure and a growing passion. Through each work, Cathou-Bazec conveys the authenticity and liveliness of her subjects, offering viewers a moment of wonder at the details and sensitivity of her artistic gaze.
