1979 yılında Van'da doğan Murat Özaraz, üniversite eğitimini 2001-2005 tarihleri arasında Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Eğitim Fakültesi Resim-İş Anabilim Dalı'nda tamamladı.
Eğitim hayatı süresince farklı illerde çeşitli sergiler açan Özaraz, özellikle suluboya ve yağlı boya üzerine çalışmalar yapmaktadır.
Son olarak 2006 yazında, Bodrum Yalıkavak Sanatçılar Sokağı'nda karma suluboya sergisi açmıştır.
