French painter Bruno Gaulin was born in Bergerac in 1958. As a child he was passionate about drawing and painting as well as classical Spanish guitar and flamenco. At the age of 14, he created his first paintings in oil paint. Bruno Gaulin entered the Toulouse School of Fine Arts at the age of 16. He continued his training at the Louvre, studying the techniques used by copyists.
Bruno Gaulin starts from the figurative, then moves away from it by composing, structuring, geometrizing space, light, combining colors, glazes and materials, colored lights and shadows. His work is a subtle combination of classicism and modernism.
