Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Figurative

Figurative and colorful painting having taken the liberty of including all forms of art without border of cultural genre and geographic origin, without hierarchy of values between high and subculture.

Technic Painting

Painting is an art form of painting on a surface by aesthetically applying colored fluids. Painters represent a very personal expression on supports such as paper, rock, canvas, wood, bark, glass, concrete and many other substrates. Work of representation or invention, painting can be naturalistic and figurative, or abstract. It can have narrative, descriptive, symbolic, spiritual, or philosophical content.

B.Rossitto is a women painter who paints from the heart, taking the viewer on an exploration of essence and perception. She sees things differently and is constantly studying to improve her perception, composition, and technical skills. She intends to depict more than just the objects in the composition, but also her understanding, feelings, and the essence of the location. "Painting causes her to pause for a moment, allowing her soul to embrace the beauty of nature." Because she enjoys the journey so much, receiving recognition for her art is "icing on the cake."

Barbara pushes herself as an artist to try new techniques and styles. She enjoys the camaraderie of other artists as well as the critique that comes from studying with both local and internationally acclaimed artists.

B.Rossitto studied pastels with master pastellist Claudia Post and watercolor with Tom Lynch, Janet Walsh, Shauna Shane, Frank Fredrico, and others. She studied oil portraiture with Clayton Beck III, Plein air, and still life with Sandra Wakeen, Shauna Shane, and David Lussier/Pamela Simpson (the plein air pair). Her work has been selected for the Northeast Watercolor Society International show as well as the Slater Museum's 67th Connecticut Artists Exhibition. She has received awards from the Essex Art Association for her oil painting, watercolor, photography, and pastel; the Madison Art Society and the Wethersfield Art League for her watercolors; and the West Hartford Art League and the Audubon Society for her photography.
