Brigitte Boulanger has been an Illuminator Painter in Gif sur Yvette for a dozen years now after having practiced calligraphy and watercolour.
Her training is primarily classical, an introduction to the techniques of illumination from the Middle Ages that she acquired during many hours of training in class and in internship with professionals and with monks.
Her inspiration has now diversified and she can find her resources in different cultures , oriental, Indian, aboriginal which enrich her creations.
Her supports remain mainly parchment, calfskin, goatskin and goatskin and she lays gold leaf flat or in relief on the patterns she has chosen.
