Impressionists are artists who felt like outcasts in the world of traditional artists but eventually became the founders of a new trend in the art world. I would like to dedicate this work to the Impressionists of the 19th and 20th centuries. When I was a third-year student at the university, I wrote a term paper about the differences between two impressionist artists: Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. First of all, I was inspired by the Impressionists with their thirst for light, color, and painting in general. This was the beginning of my fascination with Impressionist artists, and I began to study them.
In this painting, the diagonal composition shows the viewer two angles: the lower left and the upper right. The upper right shows a group of artists working mostly in the studio on their works. In the left corner, you can see three artists with sketchbooks, painting in nature, they look like outcasts in this painting, which shows how the Impressionists were generally treated in the 19th century. The group of these three artists shows that the Impressionists were underestimated and misunderstood for their era. These artists stand outside of the group of others on the right who do not accept them. But despite this, the Impressionists were committed to their views and principles. Luckily for us, they firmly believed in what they were doing.
This painting is an attempt to convey the idea that attitudes towards Impressionism have changed over time, and now the works of the Impressionists are respected and appreciated all over the world. However, for some time, the Impressionists were alien to the more traditionally minded artists of the time, and this painting reflects this historical trend.
It was in the 19th century that the advent of industrial production technology made it possible to manufacture lead tubes for oil paints. This made it possible for the Impressionists to leave their studios and paint in the open air.
The Impressionists used new techniques such as brushstrokes and light effects, which allowed them to convey their impressions of the world around them more accurately and emotionally. This was an innovative and bold step, as previously most artists painted their pictures with an eye to the canons, reflecting a more conservative view of art.
The Impressionists were the beginnings of what we call "modernism" in art today.
