My FAUX BRONZE HANDS were inspired by a group of bronze sculptures of hands that were exposed in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris as well as in the gardens of the Palace of the Popes located in Avignon, France. My hands were modeled in clay. Afterwards, I painted them faux bronze with a mixture of acrylic paints. They represent a moment of tenderness, of kindness between two people.

I’m an American living in France and am a relatively “young” artist as I only began painting in the fall of 2017. My painting is primarily figurative. Drawing and sculpture, for me, are tools to strengthen my painting. My inspiration comes from my family, my voyages, Greek mythology, my love of literature and fantasy, as well as from my novels. I love to portray my family in fantastical scenes in a contemporary manner. My goal is to leave behind creations that my family would like to conserve as family heirlooms. Although I still consider myself a student, I’m beginning to receive recognition, which touches me. I’ve participated in local exhibitions, and both friends and children of friends come to me for instruction. Since my children have requested paintings for their homes and workplaces, I feel that I am already achieving my personal goal.
