It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Benoît Tremblay ou BENT, puisque c’est ainsi qu’il signe ses oeuvres picturales depuis 2014, est né dans le sud-ouest montréalais en 1975. Artiste autodidacte, sa seule incursion académique fut celle d’avoir pris des cours optionnels en art et communication, durant son séjour à l’école secondaire. Dès ses débuts, au milieu des années 90, il est fortement influencé par l’expressionisme abstrait américain, le groupe des automatistes et les néo-expressionnistes tels que Basquiat et Haring. Sa toute première exposition professionnelle fut de participer à un événement liant le design de meuble et l’art visuel, en 1997.
En 2000, lors d’un tout premier voyage en Europe, il découvre les surréalistes, le dadaïsme, le groupe expérimental CoBrA et les situationnistes. Se prenant ainsi de passion pour l’œuvre entière du danois Asger Jorn et de l’artiste-architecte néerlandais Constant Nieuwenhuys. À mi-chemin entre l’art abstrait et une symbolique plus socio-politico militante, il s’accole l’étiquette d’un artiste engagé et enragé au moyen des médiums mixtes, entre peinture et collage.
Dès 2008, il commence à exposer de plus en plus en solo, à la défunte galerie montréalaise Crystal Racine. Il y deviendra un artiste habitué, pour ne pas dire ‘’maison’’, jusqu’à la fermeture de cette antre de l’art visuel, en 2016.
C’est en 2014 que s’enclenche chez lui une réflexion qui le mène à un retour progressif vers une pratique de l’art entièrement abstraite.
En 2015, il participa pour une toute première fois à une résidence artistique, en Islande.
En 2022 et 2023, il assumera totalement le repli artistique de l’abstraction, lors de l’exposition d’un corpus d’une quarantaine d’oeuvres, réalisées entre 2017 et 2022, ayant pour titre : CONFINITUDES.
Il vit et travaille, encore à Montréal, précisément dans le quartier Villeray, quartier qu’il habite avec sa conjointe et ses 2 filles. Ayant la chance d’avoir son atelier sous la maison familiale, il créer presque tous les jours, malgré quelques ennuis de santé depuis mars 2024.
