Béatrice Mitry, self-taught, was trained in acrylics by Michèle Bourgeois, in oils by Alexander Makarenko and in the techniques of the Flemish masters by restorer Christine Mayer. Mainly a portraitist, she has also produced a Stations of the Cross with 14 stations and around fifty works of a spiritual nature.
In 2021, she published, under the anagram of Mary Breceitti, "Histoire du premier petit ver", a psychological story illustrated with her watercolors.
Her encounter with pastel in 2022 was love at first sight, leading her to perfect her skills with Olga Abramova, Siddick Nuckcheddy, Penelope Milner, Rodriguez Lopez, Olena Duchêne, Alexis Le Borgne, Annick Vallenet, Sylvie Poirson, Lucy Michiels, Cantarana and Patrick Henri.
While continuing to explore this fascinating medium, she has been teaching pastel technique in Stuttgart since 2023 and participating in various Pastel exhibitions in Europe. She exhibits in the gallery "Talents of Today and Tomorrow" of the pastel artists of France and is a "Journeyer" member of the Pastel Guild of Europe. She is also a member of the German Pastel Society (Deutsche Pastell Gesellschaft DPG), the Pastel Guild of Europe, Pastel en Dauphiné, Pastel en Bourgogne, and the Art du Pastel en Normandie. Her works are found in private collections in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, and the United States.
In her pastels, Béatrice Mitry aims to share her positive and spiritual emotions with the viewer and to highlight the beauty of simple things.
