François Flachet was a writer of fiction for television. He always wanted to visualize the scenes he wrote, he drew them, then colored them in small storyboards... Very quickly came the need to move to larger formats, to test other materials like oil, which allows him to return to his painting. Today, he paints with much more determination, devoting a large part of his time to it. His work as a screenwriter often leads him to create a story in each of his paintings, sometimes imbued with a certain nostalgia. We find this in the study of these old diving boards that he particularly likes. He loves the atmosphere of deserted beaches, when all that remains of human remains is an old diving board waiting for the children to return...
Eugène Boudin was immersed in it during his childhood, but he always found that there were a few too many people on his beaches...
