Barbara Guias, born in 1962 in Paris, started her interest for art when she arrived at 20 in the eighties in New York, USA.
Ten years there raising two children let her experiment live model drawing at Art Students League, children and humorous illustration at School of Visual Arts and at Parson's School of Design.
Back in Paris, she went for modeling clay after live model with Gérard Gauduchon, then for engraving with Fabien Lesaint at Beaux Arts de Paris and finally for oil painting the Rembrandt 's way with Edgar Saillen in Montreuil. There, she loved working portraits and figure painting.
During Covid, she went back on line to Art Students League with Dominique Medici, a widely rewarded american portraitist based in Seattle, USA.
She became professional nine years ago and is presently open to portrait commissions.
