Orazio Barbagallo, born in Monza into a family of stonemasons, displayed a natural artistic talent from an early age, quickly mastering sculpture, painting, and graphic arts. After completing his education at the State Institute of Monza, he established his own studio at the age of 18, beginning a professional career that included collaborations in theatrical, cinematographic, and advertising scenography. His travels in 1996 opened doors to collaborations with European art galleries such as the VAAS Art Centre in Vence, Peter Brughel Art Gallery in Amsterdam, and Galerie Angerer in Austria. These experiences led to exhibitions across Europe, including Rome, Paris, Zurich, Innsbruck, and other major cities.

Barbagallo has created notable religious works, including mosaics on the Annunciation (1997) and bronze panels representing the Old and New Testaments (2000) for the Church of Santa Margherita in Arcore. In 2010, his sculpture Sguardo ad Oriente was displayed at the Palazzo della Provincia di Ragusa, with a smaller version added to the Museo de Palazzo della Permanente in Milan. Another monumental work was installed in Piazza Armerina, Enna, while his piece Figura (2015) became part of the prestigious MUSMA Museum of Contemporary Sculpture in Matera. His achievements include winning the 1st Prize for Sculpture at the “National Art Prize of the City of Novara” in 2010 and participating in the European Sculpture Meeting in Montauban in 2001 and 2005.

Barbagallo’s works are featured in numerous public and private collections, including the Spinetoli Sculpture Museum, the Mele Contemporary Art Museum in Santa Maria di Leuca, the Museum of Contemporary Italian Art in Durazzo, the MUSMA Museum in Matera, the Palazzo della Permanente in Milan, the Ghisallo Cycling Museum in Magreglio, and the Copelouzos Art Museum in Athens. His sculptures continue to resonate with audiences, blending timeless materials and techniques with a profound sense of history and artistic vision.
