He was born in the Keşan district of Edirne. Due to his father's duty at the consulate, he attended school with his grandmother for a while. While she was making plans to go to her family when the school was over, she won the Edirne Teacher's School for Girls (later turned into a high school). She was interested in all branches of art. He was interested in painting and ceramic arts. After graduating from school, he went abroad to his family.
