Aurelie Galois barocque, mysterious and highly surrealistic paintings have always explored the twilligt zones of the human psyche, through uncanny subjects, secret symbols and fantasmagorical theatrical setups that both create and negate narrations. Alchemic and erotic rituals, dreams and nightmares, self celebration and selfoblivion are just some of the elements in Galois multilayered paintings, who seem to belong to a world of itself, a world, where we’re only allowed to enter, if we engage with our own secrets and fears. Galois paintings are in this and many other senses a true voyage into the unconscious.

While studying literature and history of art, she learned every traditional techniques of painting, drawing and engraving from a master in his private studio in Paris. As a young editor in chief for several magazines and free lance writer, she started to paint the portraits of those she was interviewing. Faces have become her favorite landscape Then she moved to the US for several years, and her artistic carrer took off. Her painting explores the twilight zones of the human psyche, through phantasmagoric theatrical setups that both create and negate narrations.
