To begin with, ignorance is darkness. Knowledge is light.
Many people would like to know themselves better, to learn about their antecedents. People tend to study their past. It is important for many of us to feel belonging in order to determine our fate in society, in order to identify ourselves for ourselves and the outside world. People would like to shed light on ancestry and geography.
Metaphorically, in the picture, the background sets the darkness as an unknown, blurred light and yellow traces of a web of paint mean the ornate paths of the genus and habitat. This is the knowledge that we own, they bring light. After all, knowledge and belonging can illuminate our path throughout our lives.

The tree with roots is black with flashes of light. There are two ideas here and you can read as you like. First: gaps and flashes on the dark side of the unknown. All the same, we learn a lot, but this is thin threads from fragments. Second: Because not all knowledge about oneself carries a literal light and can make us happy. In fact, ethnos is a complex constant that has experienced many cataclysms throughout the history of mankind. Knowing about the past can be painful and frustrating.
I would not want to personalize this idea, in my opinion, in this work you can consider the history of all people without exception.
