What is a mother ready to do for her children in a moment of danger?
And the mother-bear? She will fight. Its loud roar frightens unwary enemies. Sharp teeth say, "Stay away!" She glances at the cubs that hid behind her back. They are safe.
Painting from the series "To Be Wild". In this series, I represent wild animals. I try to show their emotional reactions, how they manifest themselves in everyday life. They have their own character, behavior, which are very similar to human ones.

I am a self represented full time professional artist from Russia, working and living in St.Petersburg. I have attended many personal and group exhibitions and my works can be found in private collections in: US, Canada, Australia, UK, Spain, Germany, etc. Painting has always been my passion.
I prefer to create my paintings in oil with pallete knife. I like bold strokes and multi-layered painting. My art process is intuitive. It's a conversation I am having with the canvas, color, texture. Some things can't be explain by words, so, I take brush. I hope my art will give pleasure and thoughtfulness as well.
